Insert belt in groove to determine top width of belt. Place loops of belt over top and bottom (sliding) plate. Belt goes between half-ring of bottom plate and pointer-pin. Push pointer-pin firmly against belt and stretch belt tightly between half-rings of top and bottom plates. Size of belt is indicated by tip of pointer, pointing to numerals visible through window of bottom (siding) plate.
